Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Killer Hibachi, now in a building on Bluegrass Rd, east of WalMart. The food was ok... There are NO hibachi grills! I was told they cook the food the hibachi way over high heat. A Japanese food concept, but they do NOT have hot tea. I will not drink iced tea in the wintertime. The food was good, nothing to make it stand out... And there are lots of restaurants in this town.

True, the food it's not cooked in front of you... and for me this was not a deterrent. Am i ever glad i went because i loved the flavor! I had heard about Killer Hibachi from many friends and was excited to try it for myself; I was not disappointed. For those that wonder: service was very attentive and friendly. For a reasonable price, you're given large sums of freshly made food and interact with a welcoming staff. This is a must try if you haven't yet.

I've now visited several times and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious and the waitstaff is courteous and timely. They seem to have outgrown some early challenges due to their initial (well-deserved) popularity. The relatively simple menu is a great idea for a new place, but I expect it will grow as they settle in. Lastly, I love having more non-chain options, so will continue to support this and other locally owned and operated restaurants. Hope you will do the same.

The management does not care about customer service. It was terrible. The food is already bad with over cooked, hard rice and under cooked meat and never to your liking and yet they do nothing to take care of the customer. I highly recommend skipping this place and save your time and money because it will go to waste and you will be another dissatisfied customer. I don't know how they got their own restaurant starting as a food truck with this quality of food and service.

"Killer Hibachi" is a complete misnomer. Not only is it not hibachi, but it is clearly not killer, as I am still alive as of this posting. This restaurant should NOT be allowed to call itself Hibachi, because that is completely false advertising. The food is okay at best, but I can cook this as well at home. I had a chicken and shrimp "hibachi" lunch. The chicken and veggies were incredibly dry and bland, but the shrimp was okay, as was the rice. The quality of vegetables did not seem to be very good - everything seemed frozen to my taste. The teriyaki and "killer" sauces were not very good, either. They can make their killer sauce "spicy" by adding a tiny bit of sriracha to it. I couldn't even detect the sriracha, and was given my own tiny bottle of it to add myself. Service was fine, prices (for vegetarian) were cheap. I may go back for dinner with a group, but I am in no rush whatsoever.

Just stopped here for a quick meal while we were up in the area for my birthday. The food was plenty and very affordable. They even gave me a free slice of cheesecake since it was my birthday. The staff was super friendly and the owner even checked up on us. This place is overlooked and more people should give it a try atleast once. Will be back for sure!

By killer hibachi they mean they are litterally trying to kill you with food poisening, if they had a liquor licence then it might be tolerable but my entire family was ill after eating expensive single portions

This place should really be called "mediocre" hibachi, not "killer." I am a hibachi/Japanese steakhouse lover myself and this was my worst experience yet. The food reminded me more of an express takeout place as opposed to a restaurant. This place is way overpriced for the quality you receive. I could have made a better tasting meal for less than half the price at home. I will NOT be coming back again.

I really wanted to like this place. At first seeing the restaurants name I thought it was hibachi as cook in front of you hibachi. But once I found out it wasn't no big deal, I figured I'd judge them on their food then. Well portions were ok but the food was not that great. The veggies tasted like frozen veggies, the rice and meat had lack luster flavor. Ultimately for the price it was a rather forgettable experience which is too bad because I like supporting locally owned shops over the big chains.

Mount pleasant has a lot of options but nothing like killer hibachi. The food speaks for itself. People want new things in this town. I think killer hibachi will be a town favorite. Modern, clean, and fun environment. Portions are very generous. I had the steak and shrimp and finished my entire plate. Very friendly staff! Keep up the good work!

Tried the food truck on the campus of MidMichigan Medical Center. Menu is limited but sufficient. I had the chicken and fried rice which was very good. It's a little bit pricey at $10 but there's enough food there that you could easily save half for lunch the next day. My biggest complaint is that we had to wait almost 10 minutes after ordering to receive the food. Since we only have 30 minutes for lunch, this is a major problem. I don't think I will go back because I do not have the time to wait around; they need to have the food ready so they can serve people quickly.

TLDR; High/Lowlights: The Good: Gyoza Appetizer, House made? Gyoza sauce, flavorful fried rice (on the edge of over salted) The Bad: FROZEN Vegetables, NOT an actual hibachi (think hibachi lite/express), house salads rather than Japanese starter, lack of authenticity. The Ugly: Same vegetable medley with every dish, crinkle cut carrots, same sauce served with seafood and steak and chicken. (I can only imagine its also the same with the prime rib) Pro tip: I wouldn't order the scallops. With the quality of the other food, (frozen vegetables, average house sauces, no dish composure, frozen shrimp) the overly priced scallop dish will consist of small frozen scallops (think 20+ pound Sam's Club bags) and the same vegetable medley on any other dish. You can make it at home for 1/3 the price and probably better seasoned. Just ate here last night. I had seen the truck around town and when I noticed that the old Bar-B-Quties was finally full again I had to go try it. Upon entering I was immediately disappointed. I checked the menu before coming and was pretty impressed. You don't find many restaurants in Mt. Pleasant without pictures on the menu (pictures on a menu is a BAD thing, sign of bad foo.) But when we walked in the first thing you notice...it isn't a hibachi restaurant. It says hibachi, and I don't think they know what that means because I didn't see a cook. And I would have liked to. This was just a baffling experience overall. Our meals were served with a house salad or beef broth. I was hoping for a miso soup or a spring/sprout salad dish, SOMETHING that I would find at a Japanese restaurant. Also ordered an appetizer. I was deciding between beef or vegetable gyoza when I was informed they were out of the beef. They were really good though, served with a nice (house made?) gyoza sauce. When the entrees came, I was again baffled. The same vegetable medley was served with my chicken teriyaki and my girlfriends hibachi shrimp, as was the sauce served with it. This just seems lazy. Not composed dishes. Both entrees came with carrots, zucchini and onions, and their 'Killer Sauce." I was expecting a teriyaki sauce to be served with my teriyaki chicken, as would happen with EVERY other Japanese restaurant. It was a, I believe mayonnaise based sauce that got worse as I tried it more. The worst and most baffling part, crinkle cut carrots. As in, FROZEN, crinkle cut carrots, reheated and served. If you want to be a decent restaurant, splurge on the fresh carrots for a few extra dollars. I'm sure Meijer's has them.

This food has expanded from a food truck, into a sit down restaurant. They have only been open at this location for about two weeks, please take that into consideration when reading this review and deciding whether to go there or not . It took about 15 minutes for a group of 7 of us to be seated on a Friday night. Our server was at the table within minutes, she explained the menu and brought our drinks quickly. You should know that if you want steamed rice, you need to ask for it, otherwise they assume you want friend rice. The salad was just a small bowl of lettuce, cheese and some croutons. Some appetizers were offered and dinners included: rice, vegetables, chicken, steak/chicken, steak /scallops, chicken/shrimp. The only REALLY negative aspect was the hour wait we had before we received our main dishes. The waitress never checked back with us to let us know what was going on and while there were many people walking around checking on people, no one seemed to notice how long we were waiting for our food. When it did arrive, it was what we expected. If you have been to a hibachi you know what the food is like, they just make it in the kitchen instead of at the table. All in all, it was ok but they really need to work on the ticket times. An hour was really to long of a wait, we will possible try it again once they have worked out the kinks. Good Luck.
